Too soon
Based on my circumstances, I think the Tercel coupe is the winner!
Why yes, I AM incredibly lazy this Sunday.

Just for fun, buy the prius with leather upholstery

Are you upgrading the Tacoma soon?

Not necessarily, in addition the Tacoma belongs to my employer

I’d love a hot version of the Lexus that would be non hybrid. I like the looks a lot but worry about batteries dying long term.

I don’t want to look it up because I own the car, but I’m sure Forte5 SX models have plummeted from their new value.
Korean hatchback, plenty of space in back and front, 200hp 1.6 turbo that runs on 87 octane. Highway miles are fine but on most tanks I do 100% city driving and with a heavy foot it’s around 12L/100km (which equals a shitty MPG). You can definitely get a lot more, but I just don’t want to...
Mine looks exactly like this:
Cons: ride is a bit harsh, throttle response can be weird depending on where you are in the power band (sometimes it feels like you’re getting nothing whereas other times it leaps when you give it the beans), the way the rear suspension behaves on bumpy corners is really unsettling at first but isn’t actually a problem once you get used to it.
Considering you can probably get one with a couple of years of warranty and someone else has taken the huge depreciation hit, it’s not a bad choice for a daily. I don’t regret my purchase other than the fact that depreciation is probably shit... I haven’t looked it up myself but I have my fingers crossed that my car’s value is a bit better since it’s very low mileage and that the SX is a pretty rare car compared to the lower trims of the Forte5 (in the 3 years I’ve owed my car I’ve only ever seen two other people driving the same trim).

Rebuttal:
- a loaded Mazda3 is considerably more expensive
- a Corolla XSE is the cheapest loaded one on the list (may be splitting hairs with the Elantra)
- I like the Elantra GT... That’s more of a comment, really.
- they call the Corolla design polarizing but rank the Civic #1... And I’m a defender of the Civic hatch.
The Civic likely the best car objectively of the bunch, though it is much larger than the Corolla. They’re being directly compared because they’re hatches, but the Civic is not a sub-compact. Big boi. Also $ 30k for a nice one. My coworker paid ~$25k for hers, but it was the trim below the Sport. Anyway, I'd own one, but I'm not paying for any of them

... by which I mean, I have no money.
Hence: Tercel coupe.

I’m not advocating for the Mazda3. The worst part of the GTI experience was the CX-5 loaner, by far.

I know. I was mainly wondering if the Tacoma will be upgraded since you’ve had it for a while (for a company at least).

IMO those Tercels, the generation of the coupe there, are gorgeous and rival the E36 in looks. It’s handsome and with clean lines without looking like a Lada

I didn’t notice who posted this at first, give in to yourself and buy a fleet of Tercels.

If that is a CT200h honestly they’re not kitted out very well and sell for too high considering what it is.
Maybe people bought the cheap one on lease here in AZ, but none of the used ones I’ve seen held muster to a nicely kitted out Honda/Mazda/Toyota in 2019

I'm shopping for a car too. I hope to God the CX-3 isn't coming back

A used Lexus Prius, they look nice and it’s really a Prius without having to own a Prius.

Validated! See I’m not crazy they’re very similar aesthetically even if that’s an e46. that’s not even counting the tail lights

I just realized the Corolla hatch is just a new Vibe.
Here is some reading for us, comparison including Tercel
